Privacy Policy
Who we are
Psychologyzone (the “Site”) provides AS and A-level Psychology study materials, online reading for subscribers and school licence holders, masterclass courses and tutoring enquiries at psychologyzone.co.uk. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
What we collect
- Account details— your name, email address and the password you choose. Passwords are stored hashed; we cannot read them.
- Billing details— name, address, phone number and, where supplied, a school or company name.
- Payment details— card data is collected and processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive the order confirmation and a Stripe transaction reference. For the monthly subscription, Stripe retains your card in order to take the next payment; you can update or remove it at any time through the billing portal linked from your account.
- Order and subscription history— what you have bought, when, and what access it granted.
- School licence records— if you buy a school licence we store the school name, the coordinator’s contact details, and the two shared logins issued to the school.
- Form submissions— whatever you tell us through the Contact or Tutoring enquiry forms.
- Server logs— IP address, browser user-agent and the page requested, kept to diagnose faults and protect against abuse.
Why we collect it
- To fulfil your order and give you access to what you have paid for.
- To take recurring payments where you have chosen a monthly subscription, and to stop taking them when you cancel.
- To send transactional email — order confirmations, password links, school licence credentials, and notice that a subscription is ending. We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
- To answer enquiries you send us.
- To keep the Site running and secure.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing. We use three processors:
- Stripe— takes payments and stores card details for recurring billing. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Brevo— delivers our transactional email. See the Brevo Privacy Policy.
- DigitalOcean— hosts the server the Site runs on, within the United Kingdom.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for six years, which is the period HMRC requires for business records. Account details are kept while your account is open. Enquiry form submissions are kept for as long as needed to answer them and for a reasonable period afterwards. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; where we must keep a financial record we will keep only that.
Cookies and tracking
The Site sets two strictly-necessary cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a token used to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. Your shopping basket is held in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, and never leaves your device until you check out.
We do not load any analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no session recording on this Site. That is why you are not asked to accept cookies — there are none to consent to.
Children
Our materials are aimed at A-level students, many of whom are under 18. We ask for no more than is needed to provide access, and we do not profile users or target advertising at anyone. Where a school holds a licence, pupils use a shared login and we hold no personal data about individual pupils at all.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy in a portable form, and to object to particular processing. To do any of these, email hello@psychologyzone.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy. Anything material will be flagged on this page, and the date below will change.
